ALUMNARS 2k26, is an initiative of the Nursing Alumni of Pushpagiri under the able leadership of Prof. Mrs. Vineetha Jacob, Principal, Pushpagiri College of Nursing. It is a tri-monthly care & share webinar series organized by the Pushpagiri Nursing Alumni.
The Pushpagiri College of Nursing Alumni Association organized the ninth session of the “Alumnars 2K26 – Share & Care Webinar Series” on 29th April 2026 at 2:00 PM IST. The webinar focused on the topic “Assessment of Critically Ill Patient”, which is highly relevant to clinical nursing practice. The session was delivered by Ms. Remya Raju, Clinical Nurse Specialist at Special Care Nursery, Latrobe Regional Health, Traralgon, Australia, and an alumna of the 2008 batch. She shared her expertise and practical insights gained from her professional experience in critical care settings.
The speaker provided a comprehensive overview of the systematic assessment of critically ill patients. The session emphasized key areas such as: Initial patient assessment and prioritization, Monitoring vital signs and early identification of deterioration, Use of clinical judgment in emergency situations, Importance of communication and teamwork in critical care, Evidence-based practices in patient management
The webinar was highly informative and interactive. Participants actively engaged in the session, clarifying their doubts and enhancing their understanding of critical care assessment. The speaker also shared real-life clinical scenarios, which helped bridge the gap between theory and practice.
A total of 77 participants which included students, staff and alumni, benefitted from the same. Following the talk there was a Q & A session. Ms.Anamika Shibu, Fourth Semester BSc N ,PCON proposed the vote of thanks. The entire program was compered by Ms. Blessy David, Ms. Anamika Shibu Fourth semester BSc Nsg of PCON. The program was well appreciated by all and it came to an end by 3pm.
The program was well-coordinated and successfully conducted, benefiting nursing students and professionals alike. It enriched their knowledge and skills in managing critically ill patients effectively. Overall, the webinar was a valuable learning experience and contributed significantly to professional development in the field of nursing.
