
On 7th January 2026, the 7th Semester B.Sc. Nursing students of Pushpagiri College of Nursing conducted a flash mob, skit, and health education programme on leprosy at Kuttoor Primary Health Centre (PHC) as part of the inauguration of Aswamedham 7.0 – Leprosy Case Detection Campaign, with the objective of creating meaningful awareness among the public regarding early signs and symptoms of leprosy, modes of transmission, prevention, availability of free multidrug therapy, and reduction of stigma; the programme was organized under the guidance of the Department of Community Health Nursing and the NSS Unit, and included an inaugural meeting with the active participation of the PHC Health Inspector, Junior Health Inspector, ward members, and ASHA workers, followed by effective awareness activities, and the programme was well appreciated by the public and PHC staff, thereby strengthening community participation and supporting early case detection under the campaign.
