51 students of 3 rd year Bsc. Nursing  of Pushpagiri  nursing college ,Thiruvalla under community health nursing department and psychiatric nursing department conducted an awareness program, street play and flashmob  regarding the prevention and cessation of tobacco use at bodhana  and joyalukas , Thiruvalla. At 10Am. 51 students went to Bodhana to conduct the awareness program along with the faculties, Smt. Ranjini Devi (vice principal Pushpagiri College of Nursing ), Sr Mayukha SIC ( associate professor,  Dept. Community health nursing ) and Mr Renji John  ( HOD , psychiatric nursing department ) .

The program was inaugurated by retired DEO Smt . P R praseena  and Bishop Thomas  Samuel had delivered the inaugural address . Mr S Arshad, DYSP Thiruvalla  had delivered the presidential address and  Mrs Rakhi k Babu  ( teacher St Thomas HSS Eruvellipra ) , Mr Saji Mathew ( president of Bodhana social service society ,Thiruvalla) and Fr . Samuel ( Director of Bodhana social service society ,Thiruvalla had delivered the felicitation speech . At around 11. 30 am we started our street play named  “ പുകയുന്ന ജീവനുകൾ “ about the , prevention and cessation of tobacco smoking . program ended by a flashmob . Around 150 people watched the awareness program and had given a positive response to the awareness program .

At 4.30 pm 16 students of 3 rd year BSc nursing of Pushpagiri college of nursing went to Joy Alukas for conducting our flashmob and awareness program regarding prevention and cessation of tobacco use. The program was inaugurated by Prof . Vineetha Jacob ( Principal Pushpagiri College of Nursing , Thiruvalla ) . Around 40 – 50 people watched the awareness program.
