World Asthma Day is a global health care event commemorated every year on the first Tuesday in May to promote awareness of asthma worldwide.This year 2024 World Asthma Day is observed on 7th of May (Tuesday). On this day, various global and local organisations step forward together to compat the major global noncommunicable disease in children and adults.

Child health nursing department of Pushpagiri college of Nursing observed World Asthma day on 20/05/24 at Pediatric OPD.  Students of fifth semester BSc nursing, pushpagiri college of nursing conducted an awareness programme on “Asthma and its Prevention” at paediatric OPD. Students  discussed  various aspects like Asthma, its causes, signs and symptoms, management and prevention with the help of a role play.Total of 10 students, 2 faculties of child health nursing department and 25 patient bystanders were present for the programme. This helped to create an awareness to the public regarding the importance of prevention and management of Asthma.
