THE CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK  OF PUSHPAGIRI COLLEGE OF NURSING IS BASED ON KSVME MODEL

Philosophy

The College of Nursing, is an educational institution under the Pushpagiri Medical Society, and affirms that Nursing is a vocation to participate in the Healing Ministry of Jesus Christ; and that the course of Nursing is a genuine pursuit based on sound educational principles on which the practice of Nursing is built.
We believe in our role to serve, protect and preserve human life from its beginning to its end by imparting quality education in patient care.
We acknowledge the importance of having candidates with good aptitude and right motivation towards the profession.
We accept our responsibility of enabling the students physically, intellectually, spiritually, socially and emotionally, for attainment of optimum health of individual, family and of the entire society.
We believe in providing opportunities to develop leadership qualities, to foster a sense of responsibility, to develop a sense of pride towards the profession and to keep in pace with the rapid professional development.

Objectives

The College of Nursing provides student-centred quality education and prepares the students to:-

1. Respect human life, right from the moment of conception till its end, visualizing God in every human being; and thus practice ethical values while caring for individuals, families & communities.
2. Assess health status, needs and problems, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care aiming to improve and sustain health of individuals, families and communities.
3. Demonstrate competency in rendering nursing care based on concepts and principles from physical, biological and behavioural sciences.
4. Participate as efficient members of health team with a spirit of dedication, in the promotive, preventive, curative and restorative health care delivery system.
5. . Demonstrate skills in interpersonal relations, communications, leadership qualities and decision–making abilities in rendering quality health care.
6. Recognize the need for continuing education for their personal and professional development.
